Instant Account Rules

  • Daily Drawdown Limit - 3%
  • Maximum Drawdown Limit - 6% (Trailing)
  • 30% Consistency Rule - No single trading day’s profit can exceed 30% of total profits at withdrawal time
  • Minimum 4 profitable trading days of +1% each
  • Drawdown on withdrawal - The trailing drawdown is locked at starting balance when a withdrawal is made

Daily Drawdown Limit

The Daily Drawdown is fixed at 3% of your starting account balance and does not increase as your account grows.

This means the maximum amount you can lose in a single trading day remains the same throughout the lifetime of the account.

For a $10,000 account, the Daily Drawdown is always $300.

Example - $10,000 Account

Previous Day's Closing BalanceDaily Loss LimitDaily Drawdown Threshold
$10,000$300$9,700
$11,000$300$10,700
$11,500$300$11,200

In this example, although the account balance increases, the Daily Drawdown remains fixed at $300 because it is based on the original account size. The daily loss threshold is calculated by subtracting the fixed daily drawdown amount from the previous day's closing balance.

Maximum Drawdown Limit

The Maximum Drawdown follows the highest recorded balance or floating equity and moves up as profits increase.

The drawdown limit always trails the highest recorded balance or floating equity by 6% of the starting account balance (e.g. $600 on a $10,000 account).

Once the Maximum Drawdown moves up, it never moves back down—even if the trader later loses profits.

Drawdown on withdrawal - The trailing drawdown is locked at starting balance when a withdrawal is made.

Example - $10,000 Account

Highest Recorded Balance / EquityMaximum Drawdown Limit
$10,000$9,400
$10,200$9,600
$10,500$9,900
$11,000$10,400
$11,500$10,900
$12,000$11,400

CORE RULE 1 - Risk Exposure

The maximum exposure allowed is 1% per instrument.

At no point can a floating loss of 1% or more be recorded on any individual instrument.

Violation of this rule will result in a hard breach.

Example:
If your account size is $100,000, a 1% exposure limit is $1,000. If your floating loss on a single instrument reaches $1,000 or more, it will result in a hard breach of your account.

CORE RULE 2 - Stop Loss Rule

Every position opened must have a Stop Loss applied within 60 seconds.

Failure to place a Stop Loss within 60 seconds of opening a trade will result in a hard breach.

All QT Instant accounts are subject to a 14-Day Inactivity Rule.

  • For accounts where no trades have been placed, the inactivity period begins from the date the account is purchased.

If no trading activity occurs within the applicable 14-day period, the account will be considered inactive and will result in a hard breach.
